horrible

I spent five years in this school. (Grade two -6) And I can say that it has been one of the worst schools I have been at. I now live in California where Actual learning is done. In the United States, learning your times tables was manditory in the curriculum in grades 2-3. At Mary Johnston I had to learn my times tables in grade 5 by myself. In split classes, the teachers will focus on the younger year so the older grade won't actually learn anything new. Their reasoning is that things may be too hard for the kids. I graduated in the year 2018 and once our EQAO scores released, we had actually gotten the worst test scores in years! I was never taught real grammar (as you can see). Now that I am living in the United States, I am lagging behind in school because I cannot Add/subtact/multiply/divide fractions, calculate Pi, or add and subtract intergers. ( Which were grade six subjects.) I have looked at ciriculmm Standards and learned that American grade 7 learning is done in grades 8-9. I cannot say anything about any school in the district because I haven't actually gone there. But if you're planning on putting your children in this school, I should just let you know that some of the teachers there a great and were awesome to have around. This school wouldn't have gotten two stars if weren't some awesome teachers and lifelong friends I made there. Below is evidence that I went to this school.

Rubbish

absolutely terrible school!!! i was going to be 5 minutes late picking up my daughter because of traffic....i called the school to let them know and ask if my daughter could be safe in the office until i arrived. the receptionist had no problem and assured me that this would happen. when i arrived at the school i found my daughter outside in the cold waiting for me. when i asked the school why my daughter was left outside they explained that "she didn't listen". my daughter is 6 years old and you would think SOMEONE would ensure that my child was where she was supposed to be. I spoke with her teacher and her teacher told me that it was basically my daughters fault as she didn't listen and went outside instead of going to the office. i requested a meeting with the principal and again same story.....it my daughters fault and "they are not a daycare" so it is not their responsibility to make sure she is safe after 3:30 even though she is still at school? absolutely horrible experience with the grade one teacher and the principal. avoid this school, go somewhere that actually cares about your child
