The staffs in this gym are fraud. I recommend one of my friends go to the gym and they promise me to give a 25$ off. When I came to ask for it they said they did not put me into the system, so it is not available to get it. I asked for a make up method, and they said no or I can recommend them to a new friend to be a membership with them. Such stupid! It is ridiculous, I wont recommend any new friend to there and I will cancel my membership card for there indifference.
This is a high end facility. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Has absolutely everything I need and the staff and atmosphere are great. No pretentious tat and drama club here, just mature people who want to improve their health.
I have been going to Athletic Club/Movati for years. I feel as though it is not as clean as it used to be. The showers in the women's can often look dirty. The number of members and dynamics of the gym have certainly changed in the last year and it seems like the cleaning staff cant keep up.
Been a member for many months. Bathrooms etc. are clean as mentioned. The have a very nice pool. Equipment is never cleaned by staff once in the whole time I've been here, several machines (a very small percentage) are broken for months. I mentioned all this to staff a couple of months ago and it never changes. They have a lot of nice equipment and tons of it but for a high end place you would it expect it to be taken care of and cleaned. I visited another major gym to be sure my expectations weren't too high and everything was spotless.
My wife and I had recently tried out Movati through the $20 dollar for 20 day promotion. The gym seemed clean and everyone seemed friendly. That was until we started to inquire about sign-up costs - We were told that if we wanted a month-to-month plan, we would each have to pay a $200 sign-up fee, in addition to 63 dollars per month + taxes. We know of two other couples which had previously signed up - month to month - a $20 dollar fee and they pay something like 58 per month. We tried to negotiate a better start-up fee but were told that there was nothing they could do, as they had to be "fair" to all other members. I'm not sure how this is fair? Anyway, we have begun our search for another gym which will offer a more reasonable rate and sign-up contract. We would have signed up at the end of the trial period if we would have been offered a similar rate to our friends. It is a decent gym, but beware of sign-up fees and rates. It would seem that everyone pays a different amount.
